The summers are packed with Helena Market Days, Movies in the Park, fireworks, the Buck Creek Festival, and jazz and other music festivals. The Helena Museum is open on Saturdays, but schedules free tours on other days with just a phone call. 

Gorgeous parks are abundant in this small town. Joe Tucker Park is located just behind Helena City Hall. Cahaba Lily Park, near the Cahaba River, can provide a great area for a lazy afternoon picnic while the kids enjoy the new playground.  A spiffy new trail is well lit for night walks. The banks of Buck Creek in historic Old Town is the perfect place to be on a hot summer afternoon. You and your family will enjoy simply browsing the many unique shops where you can purchase gifts and handmade items ranging from stained glass to jewelry, beads, clothing, artwork and much more. Enjoy a coffee or Italian ice while enjoying the sites, or quaint dining venues such as savoring a full dinner outdoors overlooking the waterfall at Buck Creek.
