Ask for an accountability friend to assist. In the living room, discard used pillows, throws, lamps, and baskets. Consider the size of each piece of furniture and how well it will fit in your new home. Get busy in bedrooms cleaning out unused clothing and shoes. Taking outgrown toys and books to a women's shelter or under privileged daycare frees up your space, helps someone else and you avoid packing one more box. Looking in the garage? Consider yard equipment you will need for your new yard and outdoor area. If there is extra, donate or have a yard sale to avoid cluttering your new garage with unneeded tools and yard equipment. Will you need all of your current patio furniture and flower pots? If not, sell or donate now rather than after your move.
